Wow… havnt been updating my blog for quite a while. Huh? coz ive been busy with my new job? nah…… not really. The job is quite slack for now actually. Coz the Chinese New Year is coming, my boss is only asking me to get prepared for the coming projects after the New Year. I guess no one is really in the mood of doing business at this time of a year.

So what have I really been busy with? Mainly settling down and dealing with the ‘parents sightseeing tourist groups’. I started off living really far away from where I work, every morning, I need to either take a cab all the way for 40 min ($_$) or take a bus first for 40 mins, then jump on the subway for another 30 mins. With another 10mins walking, I can finally finish my journey and reach my beloved office. So I was kinda forced to find a place closer to work.

Looking for a place to stay wasnt an easy thing to do, especially in China and without a car. Coco and I walked our leg to broke from agent to agent. Most importantly, the quality of the apartments are really CRAP. That’s something really hard to imagine for many of u guys who havnt really tasted the real China. Just imagine, leave a small room with shit quality Warehouse furniture, and then leave it with a dog inside for a year. The outcome is roughly wat you get. The paint and wallpaper at the corners of the walls are coming off, white furniture are turning yellow, yellow furniture are turning black, black furniture are turning white. Yea, it is that SHIT. I can stand one and a half hour ride to work, it’s actually not that bad in comparison to my one hour ride to uni in Auckland, BUT asking me to live in a shit whole like this? NO FKING WAY.

So coco and I had to raise our budge in the end, to find a suitable place to stay. Fortunately, we found a lovely place to stay right above the subway station which I get off the train every day. So 10mins healthy morning walking (or running if im getting late) is all I need. In fact, the rent in Shenzhen is not that expensive in comparison to Auckland. But if you compare it with my salary for now, it is definitely not cheap. Even though, I didnt have a choice did I?  One only thing can comfort us is that I would reckon the place is worth the price.

It’s a small studio, about 46 sq. It got some lovely decro and furniture inside (some from us). The building is a serviced apartment, and…. it’s right above Cash Box(钱柜). Ha~ ‘Location is the key’, but Cash Box is not what attracts me the most. The building is 10 mins walk from my office, it’s right above the subway station, and its right next to a big shopping mall. This mall’s got basically everything you need, from food court to restaurants, from supermarket to Louis Vuitton. No jokes! Louis Vuitton, baby! and many other brands like Tod’s, Dunhill etc. If you take the subway towards the east for one stop, you’ll reach a even bigger mall, it has the flagship LV store (biggest in China) and many many more brands such as, Prada, Miu Miu, Ferragamo, Zegna, Gucci, Boss, Versace, and Juicy, CK, Diesel, Club Monaco, etc etc etc.

But finding a nice place to settling down, didnt mean I can start to enjoy my work life. Right after we settled, the ‘parent sightseeing tourist groups’ kept coming. Coco’s parents arrived in the morning of the first Friday, we sent em off at 2pm on Sunday, and my mom soon arrived at 3. You cant really lay down and relax with your girlfriend in a studio with your mom in the room can you? Well, that’s the Chinese culture. And…… my mom stayed for a week…. at the same time, I had to prepare to sing a song at the coming company’s New Year’s dinner. Let me tell you a fact, right after we sent off Coco’s parents on Sunday, I went straight to Cash Box downstairs to practice singing, and when my mom arrived, I had to send Coco to guide my mom to her room. But my mom didnt stay in her room, Coco returned to cash box in a short while along with my mom to watch me practice with my colleauge.

Holy crap, that’s a lot of words I have thrown on the page, I guess I may not even have enough patient myself to proof read. I better finish it fast. Ok, the company’s new year’s dinner was last night. Singing on the stage was entirely different from sing K, you can hardly hear the music. I finally know why many pro singers can sign like a bird in studios, but sing like shit on stage. And performing on the stage is pretty much like the presentation I did with MJ in year 4. You get on, everything goes like a blink, then u get off. You can hardly remember what you did. Maybe I was too focused, or maybe I was a bit nervous. But no one would really care how well I sang I guess, coz the performace was after the dinner. With the amount of alcohol everyone had in their stomachs, I may look like Michael Jackson in their eyes. The only thing everyone remembers clearly maybe was the prize draw. And…. and ….. and … I have won the first prize baby! lol, 3000 RMB of supermarket gift card. lol… I really thought I couldnt get anything, I’ve even sent a txt to Coco saying that I didnt get a thing when the prize draw was finished. But somehow, there was one more prize than I thought, and the very last one was for ME. Ha~ my hardout practicing for the performance was finally paid off!!

Okay…. it has been a very long story…. Ummmm wat else I wanna say?? hmm.. save it for another day…

To be continued….
